What’s the difference between x-intercept form and y intercept form?

I’ve been told the basic rule for y-intercept is ‘ y=ax^2+bx+c ‘ and x-intercept is y=c(x-a)(x-b) but can you elaborate on it? Such as explaining how to spot each one and the differences.

The x-intercept form is the points that lie on the horizontal line and the y-intercept are the poitns that lie on the vertical line.
