What type of website would apply to most people?

Like myspace designs, web searches, free video watching, etc. ( I am not going to copy those owners of those websites) I am creating a website, I have an idea, but i don’t know if people will like it or not.

So tell me what you look for on a website? what you prefer a website to be about? what type of stuff would you want a website?

If you’re asking us for an idea that means you will fail. Creators of Google, Myspace, Twitter, Flickr, etc… did not go around asking people what they want. That’s not how things work. Don’t waste your time, do something else.

  2. Take your idea and try to figure out what will make it a page that people will want to visit day after day. Don’t go looking for other people to come up with random ideas for you.

  3. Lowest common denominator / can’t please all the people all the time - are the mantras you need to observe.

You can’t make a website and think everyone from every walk of life is going to use it.

What I would look for in a website is not what most people will - I find it remarkable that myspace is used for tweens when it’s meant to be used for serious musicians, everybody seems to have a facebook page - why!?

If I want to be kept up to date with a specific musician I’ll go to their website, not some crappy fan built effort, if I want to buy a book or an album I’ll go to the publishers website.

  4. If you know what people want you would be a millionaire. Not many know its all guessing you know, its great to build on a base you already have.

    Too many knows, sorry.
