How would i morph a video file into the same format as another video file?

My camera records and plays videos, but it will only play its own videos,
Is there a program i could get that would change the format to the camera format by read the cameras video?

the best way to watch videos is on a dvd so what you need to do is get your videos on your computer, then write them to dvd.
There are many articles on the internet explaining how this is done in each case (mini dv, dvd, hard disk camcorders)
