Tossing And Turning At Night

It’s a rare person who hasn’t at one time or another experienced a restless night, lying awake and staring at the clock, dreading the prospect of going to work with no rest. The anxiety that accompanies insomnia is almost as bad as the condition itself and it creates a vicious cycle. For those who suffer from it, rest is replaced by worry and the worry keeps them from getting any rest. Although this condition can really disrupt a person’s life, it is not an actual organic disease but rather a sign of something gone awry. Hormone imbalance can cause it; poor eating and exercise habits can contribute to it. Some might suspect that it’s hereditary - certainly your kids can keep you up at night worrying whether they will make it home safely! Only your doctor can tell you whether your sleeplessness is a symptom of something more serious, so don’t cause yourself even more sleepless nights worrying about the underlying cause.
