Bunkbeds are great for sharing
An extra thing you should think about if you only have 1 son or daughter or if your children are not going to be sharing bed rooms is to get a bunk bed with a desk below. This is a super way to save on room, more so if you have a son or daughter that is going off to kindergarten soon or is already in kindergarten and is going to have to spend time doing coursework each day. If you are not going to get a desk for the room, you can always get a pull out futon as the bunk beneath, giving your son or daughter 1 small bed on top and then a larger sofabed down below. This is really great if your children like to play video games or lounging around, because this allows them their own special space to do that.
