Where else would the trans coolant and radiator mix on a dodge neon?
I have a 2000 dodge neon. My previous questions all have to do with the trans oil being cream color and was told it could be from a bad radiator. Had both flushed out and wanted to know before I replace the radiator if the two could contaminate/mix with each other in any place else besides the radiator? Or is the radiator the only spot that could be the problem.
the radiator is the only spot that can happen to it at,that’s the only place that the two fluids actually come close together at,if you replace it you,ll solve your problem with it.good luck.
The radiator is the only place this can occur. Every car I have ever owned I have added an external Trans cooler. This prevents this problem form occurring and it also improves the cooling of the transmission as it cools better out side the radiator than inside the radiator. The external Trans cooler bypasses the cooler lines that run inside the radiator. I would recommend this as the permanent solution. Also make sure they do a complete Transmission flush, not just a pan and filter change. have them flush all the fluid out of the transmission, other wise in about 8000 miles you’ll loose the trans.

thats the only place, the trans fluid is cooled by the radiator and should be seperated. if the radiator fails, that can cause the mixing
