What line on the radiator is the return line to the trans?

I want to put a cooler inline but I want to hook up to the line going back to the trans.

On crossflow side tank radiators the transmission return line is ALWAYS the top line and on downflow radiators with top and bottom tanks the transmission return line will USUALLY be the passenger side line. But to verify that, find the highest line on the transmission and follow it to the radiator. That will be the return line from the radiator to the transmission.

  1. Unless you have a trans cooler installed (looks like smaller radiator and is it’s on closed system) there is no out to the trans or radiator style cooling. The coolant from the radiator is strictly engine only.

  2. it wont matter, your still removing the same amount of heat. but just remove one line and start it real quick
