What diagnostics equipment to use for a 1995 trans am?

I know that my 1995 trans am has an OBD1 system with an OBD2 port. What is the cheapest setup I could use to get trouble codes from this system? I would prefer it if I could put some software on my laptop.

I explained to you before how to retrieve the codes, and that is cheap. If you would rather have some fancy program for a lap top, be ready to fork out at least 400 bucks. Good luck. Christopher

Harbor Freight tools have inexpensive scanners. Read application data/directions.
