How can you differentiate between the sexes of the common raven?

I have a raven that is several years old now, but am not sure what sex it is. It hasn’t lain any eggs, but I’m not sure if that is a definate sign.

Take him to your local brid bander…a professor of ornithology at your local college… he will blow on the feathers just above the anus in an upward direction, this patch of skin will have variations based on sex. A female will have a more fatty patch of padding in this area. A brood patch.

The common raven displays almost no obvious signs of sexual dimorphism. So unless you perform an invasive procedure it is really hard to tell using the naked eye.
