Both Epson and Canon printers are capable of excellent results,I have used both.My personal favourite is the Epson R2400,for up to A3+ prints,I use Epson’s own inks and papers, although similar top grade papers are almost indistinguishable in quality. Many of my friends use the bottle delivery systems, but they have a much larger through put of prints. The black and white prints I produce are almost impossible to tell apart from my old silver prints, while the colour prints are so much easier than all the old chemical processes that I have used in over 40 years of professional and educational photographic work.

For quality photos, you want to get a printer with atleast 6 ink tanks.
At home, I use the Canon IP6700D. I’ve been pretty happy with this printer.
I’ve heard that Epson printers have a problem with ink clogging… but the paper is fine.
