What is the best place to go for baby/family portraits?

I want them to be nice obviously but don’t want to spend a thousand dollars for a super expensive professional. Is JC Penny’s ok or sears or the picture people? What do you recommend also I live in San Diego so if anyone in this area knows of a good place. Thanks!

I just had pics done last Friday at Sears and they turned out amazing. We bought a 20 by 20 pic and the cd with all the pics taken for 178 dollars. They were done nice and we did them for my daughters 1 month.

You can always try the Wal Mart picture place, my family got some nice pictures done there.

I would try to find a cheap private photographer. The pictures are not so staged and don’t look cheesy like the ones from the stores. They are all on the same silly props and make the babies do poses. Photographers are not that expensive and they get real action shots (they will take up to 150-200 shots and you just pic the ones you like)
