A Driver’s Plea to Wireless Users
Even though you may find using a
wireless cell phone headset in the car quite liberating, that doesn’t necessarily mean you should occupy your hands with other, shall we say, inappropriate actions. For example, now that you are driving and executing a hands free phone call, please don’t eat off of a dinner plate, attempt to change a diaper, apply makeup, wax your eyebrows, shave, read a novel, periodical or other printed material and, last but not least, learn to juggle while you sit behind the wheel in moving traffic. Yes, I know… wireless technology makes it so easy to let our hands wander while behind the wheel. May I make a suggestion? While driving and enjoying your hands free status, keep your hands on the wheel, keep your eyes on the traffic and please allow others to merge into your lane ahead of you- especially if it’s me…
