Traits of a Project Manager
Those that enter the Project Management field and get their PMP certification have a few common traits that make them successful. Being a good leader, with good communication, budgeting and organizational skills is a must. If you are a task-oriented and detail-oriented person, you will be successful, but the key to becoming eligible for your PMP certification is getting experience as a project manager. If you hold a baccalaureate degree, the experience requirement is considerably shorter. To be successful as a Project Manager, you need to complete projects within budget and time restraints for an employer that is willing to document your project completions for your PMP certification.
