Requirements of ISO 9001

The International Standard for Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 for requires that any compliant organisation should provide adequate human resources and that personnel affecting product conformity are competent, trained and aware of requirements.

Section 6.2 Human resources dictates that personnel performing work affecting conformity to product requirements, be competent on the basis of education, training, skills and experience. Furthermore clause 6.2.2 Competence, Training and Awareness defines that the necessary competence for personnel performing work affecting conformity to product requirements should be determined by the organisation. Training or measures should be undertaken to achieve the necessary competence. Training should also be evaluated and recorded and personnel should be aware of the relevance and importance of their activities.
