Car Donations To Charity
Donating your old car to a charity just might be the smartest thing for you to do (as opposed to trying to sell it yourself).
The reason are as follows:
1. You get your old clunker a new home - away from YOUR home and driveway… perhaps even ‘beautifying’ your neighborhood.
2. You get a certain amount of a tax deduction, depending on the condition of your old car. (Generally $500 off of your reported income. It may be more if your car is worth over $1000 - from the Kelly Blue Book or other recognized used car value source.)
3. But best of all, you get to do something worthwhile for a charity. Note that the people who are the beneficiaries of car donations to charity actually deserve a helping hand. They are screened ahead of time to make sure they are not just looking for a free car (or money). And there’s no shortage of these people nowadays.
